We are talking about our Inner Child and how that has repercussions for us throughout our lives for "Good and bad". The reintegration of the child can help us improve our lives and those around us.
Moving away from what aren't useful traits to move toward more useful traits that are more beneficial, it might be something like growing up your family life may have been chaotic having that chaos and living with it became your "normal". Then living with someone who didn't have that experience would feel out of place and uncomfortable. How do you work out these opposites?
